Classes

As part of our duty to fulfill the great comission and “teach all nations”, we offer several classes on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Sunday morning classes are divided by age groups so no matter what stages of life your family is in, we have classes for all. If you aren’t sure where to go, a Greeter will help you get checked-in to the right classes.

Great Commission Publications

Childrens' sunday school

GCP’s mission is to produce resources for the church’s work of nurturing and equipping the people of God … and doing so with a focus on building Christ’s kingdom and preparing believers to “glorify God and enjoy him forever.”

the Doctrines of grace

Adult sunday school

This series dives deep into the foundational teachings of scripture regarding the gospel which we preach and teach. The Doctrines of Grace help us understand the salvation that God has purchased and provided for His chosen people.

Join us as we study through the five pillars of the Doctrines of Grace: Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints.

This class is being recorded and can be listened to online here.

the Aspiring Cohort

Elder Training

The Aspiring Cohort is an intentional time of discipleship for men who desire the office of elder (1 Tim. 3:1). Led by Pastor Brandon, this class has three major parts: theology, practical theology, and prayer:

Theology: The ministry of an elder is theological. Deep levels of understanding are required in order to teach, serve, and protect God’s people. Because of this reality, we spend much of our time discussing deep, theological truth. We are currently reading through John L. Dagg’s work Manual of Theology.

Practical Theology: The ministry of an elder is not an ivory-tower pursuit; it is a commitment to a particular flock. For this reason, we focus on a case study, talking through how to apply the Word to the situation and how we would deal with it as elders.

Prayer: Finally, we pray together. The major commitment of the Apostles was the Word and prayer (Acts 6:4), and these should also be the commitments of all those who would serve the church as elders. We close each meeting by sharing requests and praying together.
