If you’ve been around WCF for a while, you know we combine all of our Sunday School classes into one, big happy family during the summer. From oldest to youngest, we gather together to study a particular subject. A unique thing about our summer Sunday School classes is they usually have an intentional level of “spice” to them. In other words, we want to purposefully work through doctrines and subjects that are difficult and often divide Christians. Overall, we think this helps us to mature as a congregation in both our understanding and how to handle disagreements in the context of a fairly theologically diverse church. This year we’ve decided to teach a class we’re calling I Believe in the Holy Spirit.
Of course, this title draws from the Apostles’ Creed we recite each Lord’s Day. We confess to believing in the Holy Spirit, but most of us would probably also confess He is mysterious to us. What does He do? Who is He? How is He understood in the context of the Trinity? We’ll explore these things, biblically, as well as many more pieces in order to understand the Spirit and His work better.
It is helpful for me to know, as the teacher, what thoughts and questions people have about the subject. Please feel free to reach out to me via phone or email to let me know any questions you may have about the Holy Spirit. I’d love to hear them and factor them into the course material. My goal is that we will glorify and love Him and His work more as a result of this class together!
Coram Deo,
Pastor Brandon
