Coming Sermon & Teaching Series

Coming Sermon & Teaching Series

Over the next several months, we will be entering into three new studies together as a church! I’m excited about all of these new series/classes and look forward to preaching/teaching them. We want you to be aware of them for a couple of reasons:

  1. Begin Praying
    • Pray for yourself and for the congregation. Pray that we would, in fact, be like the Bereans who searched the Scriptures together. Also, I would request you pray for me. It is fairly daunting heading into this much new material around the same time and will require much work.

    2. Begin Reading

    • You will understand, retain, and have good questions for so much more if you come having read about the subject or the book of the Bible we are heading into.

So, where are we going? There are three main settings in the context of Windsor’s teaching/preaching ministry: Midweek Bible Study, Sunday School, and Lord’s Day Worship.

    Midweek Bible Study & Prayer

For around the past year and a half, we have been working through the book of Romans together in this setting. It has been a treat to work through Paul’s Magnum Opus! However, we will be done within the next month.

Our next study on Wednesday nights will be the book of Isaiah. Although it is 66 chapters, I anticipate it will take about a year and a half to work through this one, as well. If you have not attended a Midweek Bible Study, I would encourage you to do so! It is encouraging to get around fellow Christians in the middle of the week for the purpose of study, prayer, song, and fellowship.

    Adult Sunday School

We’ve been working through The Life of DavidVolume 1 by AW Pink for a while now and will finish within the next couple of weeks. The plan is to pick up with Volume 2 right away; however, for the summer, we are planning to take a break from The Life of David. Also, as we did last summer, we will be giving our children’s Sunday School teachers a break for the season.

In the summer of 2023, we worked through the Doctrines of Grace (Calvinism). We are going to continue the doctrinal emphasis in the summer of 2024 with a study on Covenant Theology. Now, if you’re unfamiliar with that terminology, it may sound a bit fancy. I think, though, you will find this class and material informative, challenging to the status quo and, Lord-willing, helpful to your overall understanding of how God has structured his plan of salvation and the Bible itself.

    Lord’s Day Worship

Last, but certainly not least, is morning worship. We are coming to the end of the Gospel of John after about three and a half years of study (with various breaks here and there). Once we finish John, I am planning to go into Paul’s letter to Titus in a series that will, essentially, cover the late spring and summer months. Usually we go back and forth from a New Testament book to an Old Testament, yet I think Titus will be helpful for our church at this time. I am currently debating between a couple Old Testament options to begin in the fall, and we’ll keep you updated on that as that decision gets made!

Thank you all for your continued prayer and enthusiastic support in regard to the teaching/preaching of the Word at Windsor Christian Fellowship. It has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life to serve you in this way.
